Temple Visit *o*

Temple :)

Every once a year some members of an lds church get a chance to either visit the temple or get baptised for the dead at the temple in Hamilton. On the 19th of July some members from my lds church left home about 9:30 and was in the bus about 10:00.

During the whole bus ride to Hamilton, I plugged in my earphones relaxed on my chair and day dream ed outside the window. Throw out the whole ride I was relaxed, but also very exciting about what I was going to for those who are passed.

Later that morning, the bus arrived in Hamilton, in the afternoon about 12:50. While driving up the Temple view already you could get the perfect view of the Temple. As heads come of shoulders and peak up to see the top of the Temple from inside the bus, we enter the gate to the Graceful Temple.

The bus pulled up on the side of the parking, then everybody grabbed their cameras, iphones, and other devices to take photos of the temple. No camera’s, devices or food was allowed in the temple, it was that special that you’d have to whisper to people that are right next to you. Not just long ago it was our ward’s turn to enter the temple for our baptism.

Members of our ward (Mt Wellington) waited in a small waiting room, in the temple while the leaders, and adults, get dressed. Our Bishop, called out a roll and asked us to line up after been called. Workers of the temple leaded us, young women down stairs to grab our baptism clothes, then get changed and wait quietly in front of the baptism window. Meanwhile waiting for the girls to get dressed and start the ceremony together.

After one another, baptism it was my turn to make my family proud and get baptised for my aunty's that are needing me. I drag myself into the water, and hold the hand of Andrew (person baptising me). As Andrew raise his hand and start the speaking, and I started to shiver and feel tears of happiness running down my checks. I had to get baptised three times for each person. Later I walk up the stairs out of the water and sat on a chair to get blessed, I walked out and walking up the stairs I could hear little voices whispering " Thank you my precious niece I love you with all my heart". As soon as I heard the whispering, I knew straight away it was my dearly aunty's thanking me for the baptism for them.

AFL

AFL
As a class last term we’ve been taking AFL sessions with a professional, named Tim. Every Wednesday mornings at 9:20, we head off to the hall to learn the skills, and techniques  of how to play a game of AFL.

Meanwhile, Tim introduces himself then starts a warm up by telling us to run around the hall, it was cold that morning so running around the hall kept us warm.

Later Tim explained the importance, skills, rules, also techniques of how to play or what to do while in an AFL. AFL is very popular in Australia also the standing of AFL is Australian Football league. While playing in an AFL game you pass different, kick different, and also start different. AFL is an mix of rugby league, and football.

We learnt how to:
Passing: When passing in a AFL, you do a handball, by handballing you place the football in the palm of your hand then, hold a fist up then slightly lower it and move back so you could, hit the football by placing your fist in the palm of your hand where the football was at first. Before handballing the ball aim first to the player you are handballing to.

Kicking: While kicking in an afl game when holding the ball about to kick you’ll see laces just on the side of the football As people say laces away from faces, which means face the laces outwards. At the bottom of the ball where the lines from the side come down under the ball connecting, some call it the x, well while handling the football you’ll have to face the two x the top x also the bottom x we’ll have to face different ways. Bottom x: We’ll be facing the group or the field. Top x: we’ll be either facing just above your head, or will be faced at you. Then ready to kick you’ll have to  aim the top of your boot to the bottom x of the football.

Well, I hoped you have learn or taken something away from my explanation and used it, like really please do (*joking*). Just to let you aussie viewers know but Afl is one of my 3rd favorite sport, also my favourite afl player is Trent Cotchin. THANKS YOU TIM, WE LEARN’T FROM THE BEST.

Rugby Girls

...GOOD WORK GIRL :) BE PROUD ...

Even though we lost with pride but still, won in our hearts. Us year7 and 8's rugby girls had a lot of fun tackling, scoring tries and also representing our school. About 8:30 in the morning, twenty-two talented girls got a chance to play in the rugby girls semi finals, at College Rifles.

At first we unpacked our package in this small room where everybody else put their package. Us rugby girls slipped on our Rugby boots, then shoved our mouthgurds on, and jogged out on the field.

After having a little warm up, and refreshing of how we'll gonna play. We realised that we were versing, Kelston intermediate girls, even though we were the smallest girls there, at least we played hard, and give it all our best.

Kelston girls, we're very challenging to play against, but at the end we lost by 1-5. After our first game, against Kelston girls, we showed our sportsmanship, then took a knee to where the parents were and started stretching with me leading them. Our girls had our first 15 minuet break. Each of us patted our backs, gave each other encouragements, and gave out feedback.

After a reflection from our first game we took our mistakes and improved them in our next game, against the talented Green Meadow school. after scoring 3 try's we lost against Green Meadow, 3-5. We did our cheer, lined up and shook hands of Green Meadow players.

Later, after our second game we had a buy for about half and hour. During that hour we had something to eat and secondly ran on the field to talk about our highlights, what we need to work on, also concentrate on the game and techniques.

Our last game was against a school from out north, and with a help from me and the other talented girls we won our last game. Which was exciting, even though we were the smallest girls we won our last game, just to keep us happy and to finish off properly.

Once again I would like to again say a big THANK YOU! to Miss Va'afusuaga for coaching us girls also making us year 8's happy for our last year. Also THANK YOU  to Mum, Auntie, and cousins, also my niece for your support, I appreciate it . Love you's all :)

Future Aspirations

P1:
Surprisingly when, 4 talented, encouraging people walked into the street while us intermediate students are welcoming them with our special song “Mihi Maira”. At first Mrs Nua introduces Andrew, to start off the aspiration, after Andrew explaining what he does, and why he loves doing what he enjoys the most. While Andrew closes his speech about him visiting somewhere in a America, with 12 special, amazing students from Tamaki College. To experience, what Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and a lot more internet websites, are inventing for the future.

P2:
After every little speech from each speaker, which were Alfred Fuireka, Jason Sharma, and Arizona Leger. I have picked up a lot of information from the last speaker Arizona Leger. As she said before she ended her speech, was to hold onto 5 things that will possibly help you in life. 1 Tahi do you Mahi, the meaning do the work, 2 lua today you are you, that is truer than true, there is no one alive who is youer than you, 3 san have fun, meaning  have fun while your at school, in tests, wherever or whatever you're doing, 4 four bring down the door and, show, share, bring out your confidence, and last 5 five Strive to stay Alive.

P3:
2 lua today you are you that is truer than true, there is no one alive that is youer than you. I took  that quote the handy number 2, and I am now using it in my everyday life to help me out during difficult, and needing time. The words in the handy number 2 quote, is very helpful, also very inspiering. From now on I will be, sharing, exploring, using this quote number 2 to help me, or others in the future all thanks to Arizona Leger. THANK YOU ZONA :)
