What I discovered in Sound Between Low and High :)

Experiments with High and Low Pitches

Yesterday during inquiry times our class got onto sites that were compared to sound, what we did with these sound wave sites was, we had to match the sound wave with the other. And also see what changes the Guitar, Pipes, and drum to either go high or low.

Drum: What I've had experienced using the drums was that, by tightening the main part of the drum where you tap, has a high pitch also known as high sound. Also I learnt by loosening the main part of the drum, and tapping it, turns to a low pitch. Why does is it like that? well
Pipes: Experimenting with pipes were very interesting, because what I learnt was, that it wasn't depending on how wide it is but it is mainly depending on the length. Using Pipes was confusing but actually easy, during the game I had to click on all pipes then see if they all had the same pitch as the other, but one thing was that they were all the same length but different wighth but still sound the same. So having different lehths of pipes is what changes the pitch when you blow through it.
Guitar: On the guitar, I learnt that the thinner the string, the high the pitch is when you strum it. Also the thicker the string is, the low the pitch is. Mainly when you strum a guitar all threads sound different, that's because all threads are different sizes.
Using all Sound Wave sites helped me learnt a lot about sound.

If you want to try the game just click on Sound . try it out it's really helpful :).
